So Nice to See Our Volunteers at our Shoe Processing Event!

After two years of not being able to get together, it was so nice to see our volunteers on Sunday at our shoe processing event! Shoe processing is an integral part of the process of distributing shoes. We take the shoes out of bags and boxes received from donors, check them for quality, match them in pairs, tie the shoe laces or put a rubber band around them, put them in categories and finally place them into bags of 10 pairs. We then distribute the bags of shoes to recipient organizations who directly serve the homeless and those in need. None of our shoes are ever sold. At the end of our shoe processing, our youth volunteers take all the single shoes and try to find a match. When the find a match, they yell Hurray! We are constantly looking for more recipient organizations. Hope you will join us next month on April 3.
